In this tutorial I show how to make the Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) Bird Trap out of your walking stick. This is a quick and dirty snare that can be quickly set up while hiking or camping and taking a rest.

In all transparency, I have never caught anything with this type of snare, but I think it is a good way to multi-use your walking stick. When making traps and snares numbers is key, in other words, the more traps and snares you set up the higher your success rate. So, this type of snare may need to be set up with a number of sets in multiple locations. I am sure baiting them as well would help.
